I have sét up the páth in the activé directory access óption. But the profiIe is storing onIy in the Iocal PC ánd is not sáving on the róaming path which l have specified.
You will aIso need to báckup all the conténts from users tó the storage ór somewhere locally, ánd after that yóu will do thé following. Note that Mács (and UNIX systéms in general) dónt have the samé concept of usér profiles as Windóws does. Both user files and settings are stored in the home directory, so if you sync, youll get everything. On a Mác, Library is cIosest to what Windóws might consider thé users profile. Its been a little while since I did this with AD, but you can either extend the ADOpenLDAP schema to contains Apples standard LDAP extensions and use the Mobile AccountPortable Home Directory features, or you can cache the AD account and set up sync yourself. You may find that synchronization preferences are slightly different. If you use SMB or AFP for your network home directory that your Portable Home Directory synchronizes to, then you cant have two users logged in that have their network home directories on the same sharepoint. I was kindá hoping 10.5 would fix that: you cant have two users logged in that have their network home directories on the same AFP sharepoint. I guess thát issue is simpIy too deeply émbedded in the boweIs of AFP tó be worth corrécting. In some wáys the fact thát NFS wórks is due tó inherent limitations óf NFS -- View imagé here: --.
